A conference of over 400 architecture students from 42 different European countries could be held in Benidorm in the summer of 2011.Benidorm has been named as one of the possible candidates.The conference has never been held in Spain .The conference is held by the European Architecture Students Assembly.It permits an exchange of ideas between students and professionals.There will be workshops,exhibitions,conferences and social events.
Benidorm’s fiestas begin on November 6 and the churches of San Jaime and Santa Ana have had a makeover in preparation for the events.The interior was finished in February and now work has started on the outside.The work is being done by council employees to keep the costs down.The total cost could be nearly half a million euros.
The Benidorm town council is providing 13,000 euros of sponsorship money to local sportsmen.Miguel Noriega,Miguel Fuster,Juan Antonio Fernandez and IvanMurillo .They represent sailing,motor racing,athletics and motor cycle racing.
