The Alicante Province government sub-delegate was in Finestrat recently to attend a security meeting with the local council.The mayor was present as was the security councillor ,the Chief of the Policia local and Guardia Civil representitives.One of the main items on the agenda was the ways in which communication between the various security agencies could be improved .The sub-delegate announced the formation of a new domestic violence unit which would be controlled by the sub-delegates office in Alicante.She also announced that crime had fallen in Finestrat during the first nine months of the year by 36%.
All Hallow’s or All Saints Day on November 1 has caused Finestrat to ensure that the cemetery in the town is up to scratch.Walls will be repaired ,benches will be painted and painting will be done.There will also be a special mass.This is what All Saints Day should be about and not all of the Halloween “festivities ” which are an excuse for getting drunk for many.
