Denia’s Plaques

In Denia the ethnological museum is in the process of restoring a number of traditional plaques which will then be displayed on various buildings around the town.

The plaques are hand painted and are of a religious nature.They originate from the 18th and 19th centuries.The Valencian authorities have provided a 5000 euro grant to help pay for the restoration work of 40 examples.

Five of the plaques have already been placed on buildings in Calles Pont,Loreto,San Pere,Manuel Munoz and Plaza Marina Alta.Electricity and telephone cables nearby have been diverted to accommodate them.
