In Spanish prisons it is thought that there are more than 6000 prisoners suffering from AIDS.These figures come from the Spanish Prison Authority.There are about 76,000 people in Spanish prisons and this figure represents 8% of inmates.Of this 8% almost 90% suffer from hepatitis C.

A 9 year old Spanish boy is being taken into care because of his extreme obesity.He weighs 70 kilos.The authorities are concerned about his long term health.It is hoped that in different surroundings and with a special diet he will be able to resume a normal weight for his age.

In Barcelona a school which has a high number of immigrant children are going to rename the Christmas and Easter holidays.They will,in future,be called winter and spring holidays.Many other schools in the city are going to follow the example of Cervantes Infant school.They say that this is not anti-religion but just adapting to the society in which we live.

Tenants who are living in rented property and not paying their rent can now be evicted more speedily in Spain.The law has been changed and landlords can now sue tenants after one month rather than two months.The process is still a lengthy one but this will help to speed it up.Many people are living in rented property at the moment and just not paying the  rent.
