The Spanish police have arrested Jonathan Andres Ortiz in Madrid .Ortiz is wanted in connection with the assassination of the Colombian gangster Leonidas Vargas, which took place in January while he was in a hospital bed in Colombia.
Nine months after completing the assassination 24 year old Ortiz,also a Colombian,was caught at a routine passport check at Barajas airport in Madrid.
Two days after Vargas was assassinated his brother and his lover were also discovered dead in Colombia ,with signs of having been tortured.
Im May of this year Ortiz was detained in Benidorm for attempting to buy illegal arms .However it was not until June of this year that Section X of te National Police identified Ortiz as the assassin and an international warrant was put out for his arrest.
