The National Spanish Omelette Championship is to be held in Alicante.Most of the 15 involved in the final are from the north of Spain.The only qualification for entry into the competition is that the person has to work in or own a restaurant which serves Spanish omelettes on a daily basis.
The defending champion has actually won the competition three times before .He comes from a restaurant in Palencia.Spanish omelettes are obviously a popular dish all over Spain but they seem to have more success in the making of them in the north.Last year the competition took place in Santander.There will also be a competition for members of the public who are visiting the fair.
