A bridge which was under construction in Andorra collapsed and killed five people last Saturday.Another six people were injured as they lay beneath the rubble which had once been the bridge.
Almost 100 square metres of the bridge collapsed shortly before noon.The bridge is being built at the western exit of the Dos Valiras tunnel near Massana.Four bodies had been found by Saturday evening.Most of the workers were not Spanish but mainly Portuguese.Emergency workers worked through the night to pull out one man who was trapped.He was alive but seriously injured.Sadly he died later.Six were rushed to hospital with head and limb injuries.One of the men was transferred to Barcelona for special treatment.
There were 35 construction personel on site when the bridge collapsed and all of the others were unhurt.They were pouring cement onto the bridge when the accident happened.
