A 31 year old man is accused of attempting to murder another man in the Plaza de San Agustin in Alicante on the 19th september 2006.The Public prosecutors Office is asking for a six year prison sentence.
The victim was sitting on a bench in the Plaza it is alleged when the accused and another approached him.Without saying a word to him the man who has as yet not been identified grabbed him from behind while the accused stabbed him twice in the stomach,causing a deep wound .The victim was in hospital for 12 days and required stitches for the deep wounds.
The police were able to arrest the accused but were unable to identify the other man.If this man is found guilty then he will receive a prison sentence and also have to pay a fine for the injuries caused to the victim.
