Dozens of contracts,amounting to 40 million euros ,are to be investigated by Orihuela courts .The contracts are alleged to have been awarded without following the correct procedures .
It seems that the Elche Public Prosecutor was the person who was responsible for delegating the investigation following a complaint which has been made by the opposition PSOE party regarding a possible case of corruption.
The Prosecutor has said that there is possibly enough evidence to warrant an investigation into just how contracts have been awarded by the Orihuela town hall which has at the helm Mayor Monica Lorente of the PP party.The town hall has not made any statement regarding the allegations.
