Seat to Reduce Working Hours In Barcelona

Seven thousand workers at the Seat factories in Barcelona will be having their working hours reduced until 2011.The workforce will be working a rotational system until they begin to make the Audi Q3 model, which will be in 2011.

The Volkswagon subsiduary has around 11,000 Spanish workers and two thirds of these will be experiencing reduced working hours because of a lack of demand for new cars.

Seat made losses of 228 million euros in the first three quarters of 2009,sinking ever deeper into the red.  However in 2010 they are expecting to produce 230,000 vehicles which will be an increase of 20,000vehicles in 2009.
