Albir Frax Building Opens

Albir is a small town on the Costa Blanca and last week the long awaited opening of the Frax Foundation building took place. The first bricks were laid 20 years ago and it was finally opened by Francisco Camps ,the President of the Valencia government.

The opening has an exhibition of the works of Ramon de Soto and his work was praised highly by Sr Camps. The auditorium of the building where the exhibition takes place ,is named after the local artist Pedro Delso.

A commemorative plaque was unveiled in the auditorium to mark the occasion and when the formalities were over the press were in a mood to ask the president all sorts of questions about the current issues within the PP party. However sr Camps was not going to comply. In fact sr Camps used the occasion as a campaigning platform for the party it seemed. He spent two hours with what appeared to be selected guests ,discussing politics and personalities. There were protests outside the building and Sr  Camps made a less spectacular exit from the building than his entrance into it.

According to the President the final cost of the building was 12 million euros and it is now hoped that it will attract many people and participants in Painting,Music and the Arts generally. There are three Spanish universities involved in its redevelopment.
