Juan Cotino ,the regional vice -president ,while speaking at a presentation regarding the strategic development of the Valencia region over the next 20 years announced that the coastal no building zonewill be extended to 200 metres from the point at which the government’s existing 100 metre zone finishes.
This will be the ruling for those areas where land is deemed fit for building.In those areas where land is not deemed fit for building then the limit will be 500 metres.He then spoke of projects for the building of hotels and said that if the projects had not been started within 10 years of planning being given the land will revert to non-development land.
He also spoke of the Alicante Province population which stands at 1.8 million.He predicted that by 2030 this could be 2.5 million.The Valencia government will also support Alicante Province in becoming the pivot for companies involved in water at a European level.
