Orba ,just inland from the Costa Blanca coastline has had a thriving Anglican community which has been active for 10 years. They have shared the parish church with the Catholic community and also the Ermita in the village of Orbeta.
This has been wonderful for the local Anglicans and also for those who wish to travel from the coast. However it can only accommodate 20 people .Consequently on special occasions when one might wish to invite a friend or have family visiting, then it has been impossible to have everyone under the same roof.People travel to the services from Alcalali,Beniarbeig,Tormos,Benidoleig,Orba and Orbeta.
However as from Sunday 29th November the congregation will re-locate to the church at Fontilles. This church is 10 miles further inland .It is in a beautiful locationand is maintained by the Roman Catholic Jesuit community. At one time this community cared for the sufferers of leprosy in the area.To ensure that the Jesuits can celebrate their Mass at 11am the service will begin at 9.30 .This also enables the clergy time to travel to Denia for the next service.
