International exchange in Alfaz del Pi on the Costa Blanca in Spain ,is very high on the agenda of the council. The culture council in Alfazis composed of 50% expats of one nationality or another. They have now launched its latest activity to promote cultural exchange.
The scheme has been called Te o Cafe and the idea is to get people of all nationalities around a table in a bar or cafe and for them all to swop experiences. The focus will be on each of their cultures. The meetings will be conducted in Spanish or English at a variety of venues in the town.It will be only for an hour which people can of course extend if they so choose.
The town has a wonderful history of promoting integration and recently the council sent 55 expats to Elche and Crevillente on a bus trip in an attempt to promote integration. This is the second time that the provincial government has paid for such a trip and it is hoped that more will be organised in the future.
