Benidorm on the Costa Blanca has used the format of creating a show with local talent and providing a platform for these artists to show what they are made of.Last week the Benidorm Palace had an audience of 800 people watching 25 different acts.The 25 acts had been chosen from 110 performers from the week before.As well as providing a platform the show was also a vehicle to raise funds for AECC,the Spanish cancer charity.This was the largest variety show presented on the Costa Blanca.

The show opened with a recorded message from one of the presenters of  Britain Has Talent,Piers Morgan.He wished the show luck and also reminded everyone of the importance of the cancer charity.

The show not only had the presentation of talent on stage but also had an auction just after the intermission.The star of the auction was a Rolex watch which was sold for 3000 euros to an Englishman from Norway who was visiting Spain.This lucky bidder discovered later that in fact he was going to be the recipient of yet another watch,donated by Morne Botes.

During the period when the judges were deliberating and votes were being counted there was a display of the Benidorm Palace  dancers from their floor show Crescendo.

The winner of the 2000 euro prize was a mother from Liverpool called Kayleigh Taylor.The other wonderful ending to the evening was a cheque for over 7000 euros for the cancer charity.
