The 26th Benidorm half marathon took place last weekend and considering the fact that the weather on the Costa Blanca has been so wonderful it was a chilly day for the run.The winner was the Moroccan Mohammed Blal who completed the run in 1hr03mins and 46 secs.His prize was 2,500 euros.He was only a minute and a half quicker than the second runner Cosmers Kemboi.The first Spanish runner came in fourth.
In the ladies race it was once again a Moroccan who came first with a time of 1hr 13 mins 30 secs.This was an extremely good time for the ladies race,overall she came 17th.The first Spanish girl was Maria Ruiz Castellanos with a time of 1hr 22mins 7secs.
Just over 2000 runners took part in the race,which had been postponed from earlier in the year because of bad weather.This event has become very popular and already people are talking of training for the 27th Benidorm half -marathon.
