Benidorm and the Costa Blanca hotel owners association have awarded a gold medal to all the British tourists who continued to visit this area during the summer months.The award will be made to the president of ABTA in January 2010.Five thousand travel agents belong to ABTA and 900 tour operators come under its wing.All of these maintain a constant contact with Benidorm and the Costa Blanca.
ABTA is known for maintaining high standards in the tourist industry and has become a recognised gold standard itself.It started out in 1950 with just 22 members.They benefit the customer and their members in different ways.
Businessmen and businesses in general are fairly confident that 2010 will see an improvement in the tourism industry ,even though figures were down this year it was not as bad as predicted.The figures were boosted by an increase in the number of Spaniards who holidayed at home this year and maybe that will also contiue.Forecasts show that the Mediterranean will have an increase in visitors next year.
