The Spanish drink-driving campaign this Christmas will breathalyse at least 300,000 people.The DGT traffic authorities are to increase their programme in the run up to Christmas.It will end on the 20th December.This seems quite strange as people drink right up to the 25th.However they are targeting those people attending office lunches and evening parties.
There will be over 1000 checkpoints set up across Spanish road systems and at least 22,000 people will be tested every day.Towns with more than 25,000 inhabitants are also being asked to set up their own control points within their town.Councils have been contacted across Spain.According to the DGT over 30% of the accidents last Christmas,where motorists were killed,involved alcohol.
