It was a rude awakening to feel the chilly winds across the Costa Blanca for a few days. The November weather had been so lovely, compared with the previous year when the whole of November was decidedly cold.A front of cold air from the north hit Spain and there was snow falling in many areas. In Alicante city it fell as rain however.
Health issues are high on the agenda of many people on the Costa Blanca and Valencia region in particular. One Costa Blanca man went in to pay his dues for health care and because he had worked in the region at one time and paid social security payments then he was told that he in fact qualified for free health care. This just might apply to many others living in the region.
Healthcare has been on the minds of many parents in relation to swine flu.Two little boys in different parts of the region, one in Torrevieja and the other near Valencia ,have both died from the disease. The chief public prosecutor is now looking into the causes of their deaths and whether there was any medical negligence involved as there were protocols in place to try and prevent such deaths.
