The Benidorm ( Costa Blanca) Councillor for Equality is urging people to purchase a calendar from the Marina Baixa Fire Department .They have 2000 calendars for sale in aid of the Self Help Group for Women with Breast Cancer ( Anemona) plus the Marina Baixa Fire Department Cultural Association,to help them go to the Firemens Olympics in New York i  2011.The calendars cost 5 euros  and can be bought at the Anemona headquarters in Benidorm.

Early in December citizens in Torrevieja who were shopping on the San Pascual and Villa de Madrid streets were thrown into a state of panic when a young man shot several gun shots into the air .There was no provocation for the action and luckily there was nobody hurt.However there were a number of very shocked people.The young man is believed to suffer health problems and although he was initially taken to a police station he was later transferred to a health centre.
