Constant vigilance is the order of the day when it comes to drug trafficking and in Valencia the Guardia Civil and the Spanish Tax Office have managed to dismantle a drug network which was using a fishing boat to traffick hashish into Valencia.

The operation has resulted in the arrest of 12 people aged between 32 and 57.The authorities have confiscated almost 3000 kilos of the drug from the fishing boat.The ringleader was arrested in Valencia and the captain of the fishing boat and eight crew members were arrested in Castellon.Two Polish people were arrested in a sailing boat off the coast of Denia.

The investigation has been ongoing for almost a year when they began to suspect that this boat was bringing drugs into SpainThe operation was carried out by the Team Against Organised Crime from the Balearic Islands,Guardia Civil from Alicante,Valencia ,Castellon and Tarragona.The Murcia Customs department were also involved.
