People who carry out fraudulent building are usually called “cowboys’ and in the Alicante region more than 120 swimming pools have been constructed using fraudulent methods.that is they have been built by people without the qualifications to build them and they have fraudulently used the signatures of qualified engineers to endorse them.

Two Spanish men have been detained and charged with fraud ,falsification and identity theft.The two engineers who are based in Almoradi and Orihuela received complaints about defective pools which were allegedly designed by them.One had even been attacked in the street by one of the people who had suffered from the fraud.

Police began an investigation int the complaints and discovered that the places where they were built ranged across the Vega Baja from Torrevieja to Murcia.Victims were offered cheap quotes and then discovered that the work was never finished or it was defective or the documentation was never presented to the town hall.The case against the two men continues.
