The lead up to Christmas,weather wise,has been extremely bad.Massive storms hit the Costa del Sol and the Costa de la Luz on the days leading up to Christmas.Torrential rain and high winds caused flooding of roads,garages,houses and businesses.
The high winds brought down trees which blocked roads and damaged walls in many places.The worst affected areas were Marbella,Malaga,Ronda and Estepona.A balcony fell into the street in Estepona and luckily there were no casualties.
Emergency services were working around the clock to help people who were trapped in their cars and also in their homes.Many roads became rivers and cars were just swept along.Just a little earlier in the week similar weather caused devastation in the Canary Islands with mud slides and many buildings being destroyed.
