Malaga on the Costa del Sol is showing the way at La Rosalda College.Here the Hotel and Catering course students are improving their English and also their knowledge of the typical English breakfast.
The college has already won bilingual status from the Ministry of Education and now these students are hoping to improve the English of their “customers” too.Staff at the college are their usual customers and many of them are a little bit scared to practice their English in front of the students.”Coffee with milk’ sounds quite different from “cafe con leche” but they are all learning and the vocabulary is improving.
These are ideas which could be used in many normal schools for the teaching of languages to younger students.Being placed in situations where you have to use the language to achieve what you want is a wonderful way to learn,as long as it is fun.
