Pego is a small town on the northern Costa Blanca and their Race for Life this year has raised a whopping 4000 euros for the cancer charity MABS.The success of the event has truly placed it on the map as an annual event from here in.
The race,which was a fun run ,was arranged because people asked for it to take place.More than 140 people took part ,they were of every nationality and just supported the reason for running.There were children and babies in prams and there were those dressed up in fancy dress too.The Mayor of Pego and the town hall supported the event.In fact everyone had such a good time that they are already talking about the Race for Life 2010.
A spokesperson for MABS has said how wonderful it was to see Spanish,German,Dutch and Brits all working together to support a common cause.The organisers had never organised such an event begore and had learned a lot in preparation for next year.
