The Benidorm and Costa Blanca hotel owners association ( Hosbec) had a reunion in Alicante at the end of December and it was said that the hotels were hoping for a last minute rush in bookings .There was a hope that once people had end of year bonuses they would spend it on some end of year festivities.

Before the Hosbec meeting it was stated that bookings were at 60% but this figure was expected to rise as the New Year got closer.They were expecting to take a lot of last minute bookings ,possibly because people were hoping for last minute discounts.A survey of prices for a New Year’s Eve party in a provincial town was around 120 euros per person.

Many people are taking much more care of their finances because they are not always sure when a job might end and consequently entertaining at home is becoming a much more common option.However there are still a lot of people out there who have money to spend and they will spend it at this time of the year without too much thought.
