Not only BenidormAlfaz del Pi residents have been plunged into darkness when robbers stole copper power cables,putting the street lighting of Calle Paraiso out of action.
The street belongs to two councils and there have been three long months of darkness because nothing has been done by either council.
When the thieves carried out the theft of the copper the residents reported it to the Alfaz el Pi council and they were told that there was no money available to carry out the repairs.They then asked again and were told that their own stocks of cable had also been stolen.
Residents then transferred to Benidorm town hall which owns a 50 metre stretch of the street and there it became more hopeful as they were told that the urban development councillor would look into the matter.This did not happen and so it has been a long dark winter for residents of the street.Both councils have promised that they will take action to rectify the problem in January.
