Last Sunday in Valencia a 75 year old lady was killed on a zebra crossing while crossing it with a male companion.The victim was hit by a motorbike being driven by a man who was later discovered to be under the influence of alcohol.Paramedics who arrived on the scene very quickly ,have said that there was nothing that they could do to save her life.Her companion was only slightly injured.

The irony of all this is that 20 years ago the father of the dead woman was killed just a few yards away on the same road .It also appears that in 2001 a 4 year old boy was killed on the same zebra crossing.This seems to be a piece of road which the authorities need to look at to ensure that all road signs are sufficient for the safety of pedestrians.
