Gaspar Llamazares who is now the deputy leader for the Spanish political party Izquierda Unida is extremely angry about the fact that the FBI have digitally enhanced a photograph of him to depict what Osama Bin Laden might look like now.
The US agency has denied any political motivation for the action and it appears that it came about through a routine trawl of Google when they came across a Spanish politician who had resemblances to the wanted terrorist who has a price of 25 million dollars on his head.
As the politician quite rightly stated ,the picture will not threaten Bin Laden but it just might be a threat to him personally.It appears that the FBI artist used the forehead,hair and jaw line to depict Bin Laden the Al Qaeda leader.It later appeared that the same photograph had been used to enhance the image of another terrorist Atiyah Abd al Rahman.
PM Zapatero has demanded an explanation from the new US Ambassador to Spain who has only been in post for a couple of weeks.The public affairs officer at the US Embassy in Madrid is now thought to have telephoned Sr Llamazares and made a full apology.
