Torrevieja´s is the fifth largest town inthe Valencia region and the hospital in the town has just received the highest recognition to further advance the “Florence” system for health centre management and diagnostics which has been developed at the hospital.The work at the hospital had already caught the attention of Microsoft´s Bill Gates who named the Torrevieja hospital as being top top of its field in developing this ( Microsoft) technology worldwide.
Now it is official that Torrevieja hospital is to be the home of the first ” World Centre for Innovation in Health Technology” .This decision has been made jointly by Bill Gates and Francisco Camps ,the Valencia president.Other hospitals with maybe more charisma than Torrevieja ,such as benidorm,Elche and Alicante,were in the running but Microsoft has always considered Torrevieja to be their number one choice.
