Drugs from South America were being sent to Elche impregnated in scarves and other clothing.The clothing was being sent to a secret laboratory in the town.Now the National Police have discovered the whereabouts of the laboratory and the game is up.Two of those detained by the police were using various methods to extract the cocaine from the clothing.The other three who were detained were accused of the selling of the drugs once they were extracted.
It was two months ago that Elche drug squad became aware of a Spanish resident who was thought to be dealing in drugs and appeared to have contacts with suppliers.During a raid on the laboratory the police arrested a Colombian man and woman.On searching the premises they discovered cash,almost a kilo of cocaine,mobile phones and equipment for the processing of the drugs.Further enquiries led to the arrest of another Colombian,a Romanian and a Spaniard.The police confiscated a machete,more cash and more drugs.
