Last week in Benissa 60 people took the plunge and visited the mobile unit in the town and had their skin checked for suspect moles and the like. This was a skin and lung cancer campaign and the overall result was that it was a huge success.
On day 2 of the campaign there was another mobile unit which dealt with lung cancer and the effects of smoking on the body. There was a doctor on hand to carry out a variety of tests to diagnose levels of carbon dioxide.Monday May 31 is World No Tobacco Day and it was hoped that this campaign might have some effect on helping people to quit smoking.About 40 people took part in the No smoking campaign.
