Benidorm|Clean Towns|Platinum Broom Award

Benidorm has been awarded the status of one of the cleanest towns in Spain. Many may disagree with this ,including the opposition politicians. There are always those around to do a place down.

Benidorm has been awarded the Platinum Broom Award by the National Technical Association for the way in which they handle waste and also their environmental programme, part of the International Sustainable Waste Association,ISWA.

Benidorm is consequently recognised as one of eight towns in its category of municipalities between 50,000 and 100,000 residents.

More improvements are in store for September when the company responsible for cleaning is replacing its equipment and its rubbish collection. They are looking at the possibility of replacing vehicles with those that are quieter as they trundle around the streets of the town, often in the early hours of the morning.

Javea has also been awarded the Platinum Broom Award.Javea has recently installed an ecopark recycling unit and it continues to collect garden waste, old clothing and also vegetable oil for making bio-diesel fuel.
