Seven hectares of countryside was destroyed last week when fire broke out at the Tossal de Molla near Callosa dÉn Sarria.
Fire crews were called from as far afield as Denia and Benissa as the blaze spread towards the village.
Helicopters, water planes and special vehicles were all sent speeding to the area from the regional emergency headquarters,to help.
One family, living in an isolated spot had to be evacuated as a safety precaution. It was fortunate that nobody was injured.
It was at 12 midnight that the fire crews got the flames under control but the high temperatures made it impossible to extinguish the flames totally.
In fact crews had to work throughout Monday to gain total controlEmergency workers remained in the area for many hours to make sure that the flames did not rekindle.
The evacuated family gained access to their home late on Monday afternoon.
