A child from Alicante who in 2007 developed odd marks on her skin,gave rise to suspicions of abuse by the mother.
In 2008 after a series of meetings with Social services,the child was taken into care and the mother was arrested and kept in custody for 24 hours on suspicion of sexual abuse.
Then the Technical Commission for the Protection of Minors finally concluded that the child was suffering from dermatitis and the charges were dropped.
Now the mother has been awarded compensation by the state for the unwarrented allegations of sexual abuse of her daughter.
The court had been seeking 18,000 euros for the emotional upset caused by the forced separation from her child and there is also the terrible emotional turmoil that the child suffered for being placed with total strangers.
