A project which has been promoted by the Valencia government in Torrevieja will see the town acquire a new fairground.
The beginning of August was the final day for those interested in placing tenders to construct the fairground.It will include a concert area,carparks and a market.
The work is part of the Special Plan to Support Investment Productive Municipalities of the Communidad Valenciana.
The fairground will be relocated from the harbour area and the move will cost almost 2 million euros.The harbour area of Torrevieja is far too small for the activities which take place there .
Another 5 million euro budget has been set aside for the construction of a large market area.The Friday market in Torrevieja is one of the largest in Spain.Most of it takes place in side streets and now want to relocate it.It is hoped that these construction jobs will employ at least 1500 people and will take about 18 months to complete.
