The National Police in Alicante have arrested seven men in connection with their having fraudulent work contracts.Four of these men did not even have the paperwork to actually be in Spain at all.
They are thought to have claimed at least 15,000 euros in benefit claims at the time that they were arrested in Alicante.
They presented the false paperwork to the Foreigners Office suggesting that they had provided work for unemployed international residents.These would have been mainly South American.
One of those arrested was a Spanish real estate business owner who claimed that he had given contracts to men and he then claimed social security for them for jobs that didn´t even exist.His accomplice was a Colombian who would find the workmen and pay them for signing the fake documents.
All of tose arrested are in the hands of the local authority officials.
