Spanish news | Foreign Tourists

The Spanish Ministry of Industry and Tourism has stated that on average,in July, foreign tourists spent more than 90 euros a day.

In total it is estimated that in July tourists spent over  6 million euros or just over 900 euros per person. This is over 3% more than in June.

July was the third consecutive month that tourist spending increased.Overall they have spent almost 2% more in 2010 than in 2009 with a national average of 96 euros a day.

The best place to spend their money was in Catalunya and the canary Islands, followed by the balearic Islands and Andalucia.

The British spent the most money,5637 million euros a rise of 8% on last year. Then came the Germans,French and Scandinavians.

Package holidays have increased as have hotel bookings.Oddly there has been a decline in the booking of villas and apartments,a sure sign that economies are on the move,if only slowly.
