For the first time ever a male prostitution ring has been broken up in Granada on the Costa Tropical.
The first information came to light in Granada when a victim went to the police .The organisation tempted young men from Brazil by offering them work and providing them with an air ticket ,bought with a cloned card.
More than 80 people were brought over ,aged between 22 and 29 years.Eighty percent were male, some transvestites and a few women. Some knew that they would be prostitutes, most thought they would be models or dancers.
The leader of the gang was based in Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona and he sent these people all over Spain. There were five flats in Palma, three in Madrid, one in Barcelona, one in Torrevieja and a brothel in Leon.
Four to six people lived in small bedrooms. They earned about 60 euros per client and had to give 50% to the manager. Many were asked to pay back their travel costs and also told to pay their bed and board on top of everything else.
These people were often forced to prostitute themselves up to 24 hours a day by using a variety of drugs. Now 14 members of the gang have been arrested for offences relating to prostitution, exploitation, conspiracy and drugs.
