El Plantio Golf Club near Alicante on the Costa Blanca is going to play host to the Russian Golf Association for their winter training.They arrived in Alicante on January 8 and will remain for between 3 and 6 months.

The Russian Golf Association has recognised the quality of the facilities at El Plantio and rate it as the best available for their winter training.Russia is an emerging market and this is being recognised by the President of El Plantio , Manuel Perry Sanchez .

It is not only golf that will benefit as there will be cooperation in other sports too.They also want to popularise golf in Russia.

The agreement also lays down the ground rules for El Plantio to receive groups of amateur junior golfers from the High Performance Golf School of Russia who would then receive coaching from some of the top Spanish coaches.

It will also mean an excellent tourist opportunity for the Costa Blanca as families and others visit their golfing sons and daughters.There is also a plan for an annual golf tournament where they play in Russia and also at El Plantio .This will be an excellent experience for young golfers from the Costa Blanca too.
