During 2011 the Javea U3A has raised over 3000 euros for Caritas the Spanish charity .The final donation cheque raised the money to 3248 euros and it was presented to Caritas at the Fisherman´s Church in Javea port.In fact the cheque was divided equally between the Port and Pueblo organisations.
The presentation was made to Maria Jesus Llona the President of Caritas.The U3A had raised the money at a variety of charitable functions arranged by their Events Committee. Many members had participated in the arrangements.
The first open meeting of Javea U3A will take place on January 25 at the Parador Hotel.It is a time for people to renew their membership or to join the organisation.They can also book in to a huge variety of activities which will be taking place during 2012.
