The trial in Valencia of the ex-president of the Valencia Community , is continuing.Francisco Camps and a colleague are both on trial for bribery in the Gurtel corruption case.The court has heard that 85 contracts were awarded to the Gurtel business network by the Valencia regional government.

Tax inspectors have stated that 76 of these were not put out to tender as they were beneath the legal limit of 12,000 euros and at least 14 had been divided up so that they could avoid the tendering process.

The inspectors also detected many payments by the Gurtel network for clothing and they are almost certain that the clothing was meant for Camps and Costa.They cannot be 100% certain as the clothing stores have not supplied complete accounts ,despite 8 court orders.There were no records of the cash orders that Camps insisted that he made to the store.

An auditor has assured that payments made by Gurtel companies were corresponding to orders for Camps and Costa.There are also telephone recordings of Costa asking the company Orange Market for luxury items and also discussing gifts with Camps.The jury is expected to consider its verdict next week.
