The Valencia Region Health Authority has just announced that the cost of replacing the SIP health cards is costing them 321,000 euros a year.Which is a lot of money when most of the time they have been lost or stolen.
The Health Councillor has already announced that replacing a card will now cost someone 3 euros and in Alicante Province alone last year 107,000 cards were issued.This was 35.7% of all the cards issued in the Valencia Region.
Many say that everyone already pays for these cards in their taxes and that they ought not have to pay again.They also say that 3 euros will not actually cover the cost of all the administrative costs involved.
Opposition parties are now awaiting more news about how the Health Councillor is going to claw back money to help pay for the service.They think that paying for the SIP card is just the beginning.
