The Alicante Provincial government has at last approved the new sewage plant for La Nucia´s Bello Horizonte Urbanisation.It will be connected to the sewage works in nearby Altea on the Costa Blanca.
In recent times the overpowering smell of sewage has not added any attractions to living in Bello Horizonte.The Alicante government will be funding 95% of the cost of just over 200,000 euros.The work will last for 3 months and will start in May.
The first phase consists of installing a pumping system and it will be connected to a collection station in the upper part of the River Algar.Another pumping station will be built half way to account for the elevation from the urbanisation to the collection point.
The pipeline will run for almost 3 kilometres and should solve the sewage problems permanently.The residents have heard promises about a solution to these issues many times and nothing has ever happened but now it truly looks as though the funding is available.
