Teulada | Blue Zone Parking

The Avenida Mediterraneo , in Teulada on the Costa Blanca , which is a dual carriageway , was originally meant to act as a bypass for the old town centre and hasten traffic flow between the N-332 and local coastal areas.

Now the Avenida Mediterraneo has itself developed a serious traffic problem.There are those who are using the street as their permanent parking area and this means that those who are shopping have no alternative but to either double park or they have to search for alternative parking.

Then of course there are the problems faced by commercial delivery vehicles and they always have to double park and so the movement of traffic is slowed down to a single lane.

There has now been a meeting with the mayor Antoni Joan Bertomeu and it has been agreed that 75% of the parking on the street will become blue zone and people must pay.There will also be a restricted time limit for drivers.

The mayor also announced the creation of 500 new free parking spaces in the near future.
