The Children In Need programme on the BBC had a taste of the beach at Albir .
A group thatwas performing on the show at a distance , recorded their performance on the beach there.
The local council gave their assistance to the project and thanked the group for thinking of promoting Albir in this way .

The youth and sports councillor in Altea wants there to be a new philosophy towards the youth of the town .
He wants there to be new programmes for young people . He also wants clubs and associations to be involved as well .

Hotels in Benidorm were almost full this week when visitors came for the fiesta Virgen del Sufragio which started with the re-enactment of the apparition of the Virgen , on the Poniente beach .
Alfaz del Pi has a new webpage and this has given wider coverage of the fiesta , consequently many more visitors attended this year , including the mayor of Altea and the Alicante sub -delegate .
Pilar de la Horadada has been celebrating for almost a month the fiesta of their patron saint Virgen del Pilar .

The tram network between Alicante , Benidorm , Altea and Alfaz del Pi has users who are thinking seriously of forming an action group to complain about the service which the network provides .

From November 12 to 25 the police in Altea will be extra vigilant about the use of mobile phones while driving .
In reality the campaign is not just in Altea but across the province .They expect 200,000 checks to take place and more than half a million across Spain .
Punishments will be 300 euro fine , three month suspension of license and three points loss .
It appears that 37% of accidents are caused by people using phones , tampering with on board entertainment or smoking , all are distractions .

Mopeds and motorbikes over the age of 3 years must now have an ITV test and last week in Altea there were mobile units to test the bikes for those who wished .
Heavy fines will be levied at those who have not completed the test successfully after January 21 2009 .
