The Salon El Canor in Teulada will be the venue for a concert by classical singer Izzy Cooper , together with classical guitarist Robin Hill.
There are two concerts , one on the 27th and the other on the 28th of August .
Both shows will have a Latin flavour and those attending the concert will be greeted by a glass of champagne and also an interval drink. Tickets are 45 euros

“Rock at the Castle ” was the title for a weekend of music at Moraira castle last weekend .
The music started at 7pm on Saturday , finishing at 1am .It featured The Fugitives , After Midnight , and Just do It.
It was a concert organised by the Festeros 2009 to raise funds for next year’s fiestas .
Then on Sunday it was the second jazz concert organised by the Moraira / Teulada Lions . The first concert raised 1000 euros for charity . The next one is on September 7.

The ” rutas turisticas ” have been very popular in Teulada this summer .They have attracted residents and visitors alike . The programme of free guided tours to local places of interest is going to be continued by the town hall .
Trips under the heading ” Teulada vicentina ” a 3km walk around areas connected with the town patron Saint will take place on Tuesdays from September 2,16 and 30 , starting at 7pm .
Teulada Tradicional tours will inform about agriculture and local customs and is available on Wednesdays , starting at 10am. .There will also be a visit to Moraira on Thursdays which will take in the castle and the fish auction . It starts at 10am . This one begins at the Club Nautico and the others at the town hall in Teulada .
Teulada Historica , which takes in monuments and the old town will take place on Fridays at 8pm

A Cameo show is being prepared for the beginning of Sepember at Bar Nou in Senija .
Senija lies between Benissa and the Jalon Valley , just off the N332 .
The evening will comprise a three course meal with wine plus the show . That will be a presentation of dance , songs , the familiar and items which are different .All of this for 16 euros . Money raised at the event will be donated to a cancer charity AECC.

The accident happened at 11am on Friday when a car entering the Valencia -bound carriageway , near the Benissa / Calpe exit , collided with a van and then involved a third vehicle .
Two of the vehicles then went down the embankment . Four people were hurt in the crash .
Many areas are attempting to help young people at the moment .
In Teulada the youth council has set up a scheme for August and September where young people can have a consultation with a lawyer , free of charge , to inform them about various aspects of going out into the world of work .
It will be open every Saturday morning between 11.00 and 13.00.

In Rojales the town hall has arranged that young people can obtain discounts at local businesses and shops and for all sports and leisure activities organised by the town hall.

A teenager from Moraira held a fund raising event last week and raised over 1000 euros for ” The Philip Green Memorial Trust “.
She held the event at a Moraira bar with the help of ” Smile FM ” radio station .
She raised the money through raffles donations and local sponsors .The charity supports disabled children.
An extraordinary council meeting which took place in Benitachell last week has given the mayor and his deputy their backing and he will keep his job and so will she .
The vote was six to five , so it was a close call.The opposition parties demanded explanations of their actions and the allegations made against them and they both declined to do so .
They were accused by the mayor of behaving as though they were judges and lawyers themselves and the only people that he would answer to were the professional lawyers and judges .
The Bloc spokesperson has asked for a commission to be set up to investigate the allegations .
The deputy mayor did not help the situation it seems because she would not speak in Spanish and made derogatory remarks about Spanish politics .
More than 400 people took part in Moraira’s swimming challenge last week .
It was the 13th such annual event and it seems to be becoming more and more popular .
The oldest person taking part was 87 years old .It is organised by Teulada’s sport department in collaboration with Club Nautico and the Red Cross.
The longest of the races is 1.1 km and this year there were 4 expat medal winners .
Teulada is also in the news with its medieval market this weekend . There will be more than 60 stalls with crafts of every sort for people to purchase plus special shows throughout the day.
An archeological dig has been taking place in Teulada and the remains of a 16th century watch tower has been unearthed .
The team of excavators have also found part of the town wall, silos used for storage and ceramics dating back to the 14th and 15 th centuries .
The discoveries were made near the Santa Catalina church says the municipal architect , who is heading the excavation team .
Portable objects will be displayed in the local museum and other items will in time be restored .
