Reports of drugs being sold and suspicions by locals led the police in Almoradi to two houses .
There they found quantities of cocaine , hashish ,plants , precision euipment and cash .
Four Spaniards have been arrested and charged with public health offences .
Two vehicles and a computer were also confiscated .

The Torrevieja council has provided a grant to Torrevieja’s Radio -Taxi Association and this has enabled them to move the fleet to new premises and for the taxi’s to be upgraded .
All of the 90 taxi’s will now have a GPS system which means that they can be traced at all times .
It is hoped that this will give better security to the drivers and a better service to the customer .
The grant has also enabled the association to modify some of the taxi’s for the disabled passengers .

The church is being rebuilt and it will eventually seat 1000 people .

A chronicle of inefficiency appears to have been the cause of eight properties being demolished in Playa Flamenca .
The homes were built in a ravine and the ravine was not filled in correctly , the work was not supervised correctly by architects and engineers and consequently the houses have been uninhabitable for almost seven years ,the occupants to frightened to stay in them .
Now a judge has ordered the architects insurance company to demolish the properties and th re-build them .
Some feel this is the result of the uncontrolled building and massive building policy of the council .

San Juan , Villajoyosa and Denia hospitals have been dropped from the list of the 20 best hospitals in Spain .
A study is done each year on the quality of service given by Spanish hospitals . They take into account mortality rates , medical complications and readmissions .
These three hospitals had mortality rates which were higher than the national average and that readmissions were 10% higher .

Torrevieja hospital has been included in the list for the first time .
The first phase of the pedestrianisation of Torrevieja’s town centre will begin on November 19 and continue until December 19 , when there will be a break in proceedings . .
This was announced at a council meeting this week by the mayor . After the Christmas break the work will begin again on January 7 untilFebruary 13 .
The whole project will not be finished until March . A building company from Villena is in charge of the work which will cost about 1.5 million euros .

An armed man stole a car in Granja de Rocamora last Sturday and shot at patrol cars as he headed for Murcia .
He is thought to be involved in four robberies in the Vega Baja area .
After some very dangerous driving he abandoned the car and the police who followed him on foot were also shot at .
Police warned residents to stay indoors and that he should not be approached .
At the moment this man is still at large .
