Palma and Malaga are its main airports but now Alicante has gained third position with Air Berlin at ” El Altet “.
There will be five direct flights to German airports as well as eight daily flights to Palma . There will also be increased flights to other European airports via Palma .
The new schedules will run from November to April and there is a hope that this cheap airlines prices will fill the 300,000 seats .

A man and his boyfriend were holidaying on the island of Lanzarote and in the early hours of last Wednesday one of the men stabbed the other twice .
A receptionist had to call the police and the emergency services to his aid .
The injured man was taken to hospital in a serious condition where he underwent surgery .
The other man was arrested on his way to the airport as he attempted to flee the island .

The waters between Africa and the Canary Islands act as a magnet to those who wish to escape to another country and thousands die in their attempt .
Recently over 100 male Africans arrived at La Gomera in a very sad state . Two of the men had died and two more were in a serious condition .
They thought that they could have been at sea for 10 days and their wooden boat could not have survived for much longer with so many aboard .
In the last 10 years Spain has shown the greatest reduction in road deaths in the European Union .
During the last 10 years almost half a million people have died in road accidents i Europe and 23 million have been injured .
Spanish figures show that in 2007 41 % of those who died were walking at the time and 36 % were motorcyclists .
There was a 7 % reduction in road deaths from 2006 and this was the biggest fall in all European countries . The worst accident was on the island of La Gomera where three people were killed on the Canary Island .
Almost a million passengers travelled through Alicante airport in September and these figures have sent the airport up the league tables to number five .
It has now jumped ahead of Las Palmas in Gran Canaria . More than 7 million have used the airport in the past nine months.
Recently several companies have increased their domestic and international flights and this will further boost the numbers.
Meanwhile Ryanair has issued the Valencian regional government with an ultimatum about them continuing to use Manises in the future ,the ultimatum will run out on Friday .

The Water Court in Valencia and the Council of Good Men in Murcia have presented cases in Paris to be included in UNESCO’s world heritage list .
Both of these courts sit and take decisions about irrigation in these regions . They meet every Thursday in the town hall in Murcia and in the cathedral in Valencia .
They settle any problems related to farmers and their decisions are based on customs . They also organise and coordinate the complicated system of water irrigation . Their dec isions are accepted as law by both farmers and Spanish institutions .
There is no paperwork and they were established more than 1000 years ago .
There are two more Spanish candidates , the whistle language from La Gomera on the Canary Islands and the Mediterranean diet .

They believe that this scheme would be going against the free market as a new tour operator could control the winter market throughout the European Union .
They also feel that there are plenty of winter offers out there and that the government does not need to intervene.
Benidorm , the Canary Islands and the Costa del Sol are already very busy in the winter season and that any such scheme could damage them.European pensioners have been visiting the Costa Blanca during the winter for 40 years and this has been without subsidised holidays .
A flight from Tenerife to Salamanca on a Boeing 737 was disturbed when the commander informed the passengers , as they were taxiing , that he had detected a faulty anti -icing valve .
He assured the 170 passengers that they were in no danger and that he could change planes in Madrid .
However 85 people insisted that they leave the plane . Air Europes later announced that there was not even a moment of danger to any passengers .
The company explained that the commander was acting on a need for transparency for such issues .

The number of foreign tourists visiting Spain has gone down , according to recent figures for the month of July .
The comparison is being made with figures for the same time last year .
A total of 7.1 million people visited Spain last month with most of them coming from the UK.
Madrid , the Valencia region and the Canary Islands were the most popular destinations .
Despite the overall fall in tourist numbers , they actually went up on the Costa Blanca and the Valencia region increased by 4.2 %.
A young man who was booked in on that fated flight from Madrid to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands discovered that they didn’t have a seat for him .
He was offered an upgrade , but that to was fully booked , so he had to wait for another flight . He knew nothing of the tragedy until his brother rang him . He thought that he was on that flight and was so relieved to discover what had happened .
There were others who found themselves in similar circumstances , one couple missed the flight by a few minutes and a man decided to fly with another airline because it was 10 euros cheaper .
